Blue Smart Charger 12V / 5A IP65

I was provided the Blue Smart Charger 12V / 5A IP65 for Christmas.

I was considering using to charge my starter battery and two AGM 198ah 8A4D batteries for the winter.

In the summer the boat is moored and charged by the alternator, so this is a winter charge for storage, battery check-up, and DC power for checking lighting on mast.
Should I upgrade before use or is the 5A unit adequate. I’m aware it will take longer to charge.

It will charge, just slowly. But once charged, the 5A is plenty to “top them up”. If you’re ok with the slow charge then use the charger. That was a nice gift :slight_smile:
