Hi, my ip22 mains charger jumped from bulk to absorption as soon as I plugged it in. Set on l-ion. Charging fogstar drift 460ah discharged to cut off for calibration. After 3 hours it then goes to storage, the shunt is showing soc 10% voltage 12.98v current 3.88a power 30w. I have unplugged it and started again after about 15hours checked again its in storage again, shunt shows 19% voltage 13.25v current 3.03 power 40w
Which charger, and how did you connect it ?
How are the parameters in the shunt set ?
Any loads connected ?
Check the fuse at the charger.
Its charging how could the fuse be blown?
Blue smart IP22 12/20
battery capacity 460ah
charged voltage 14.2
discharge floor 0%
tail current 4.00%
charged detection time 3m
peukert exponent 1.00
charge efficiency factor 90%
current threshold 0.10a
time to go averaging period 3m
keep soc
state of charge 10.9%
No loads connected
Where do you see that it’s charging?
Jumping from bulk straight to absorption is an indication for a blown fuse, open circuit or loose connection.
What wire size do you use?
Set tail current to 0.5 %
Charge efficiency to 99%
What are the charger settings ?
charger set to l-ion
on the ip22 app
It’s a 20a charger and the cables are 20a cables installed when the motorhome was built
Add some screenshots please.
What is the cross-section of the wire?
20a doesn’t really leave an impression on a 460Ah battery pack.
How long are the cables ?
Have you checked the Fogstar app connected via Bluetooth? Is there any charge current shown? Is the charge enabled there?
3m. Yes that’s something I am checking. I have a direct ticket with victron support and I’m going through a check list with them. I will report here my findings.
Yes thanks. the battery is charging.
You may be right. I have a direct ticket with victron support and I’m going through a check list with them. I will report here my findings. Thanks
Hi Danny
Having similar problem. Anything to report yet?
Cheers
Hi Randal,
Yes the cables, I had the wrong diameter for a 3m run. I have put the charger closer and using 10mm cable with a 60mm run all working as it should now.
