Installer wanted – Hof region

Hello everyone,
I’m looking for a reliable installer in the Hof area (Plauen, Bayreuth and Kulmbach would also be possible) who can help me with the correct installation, wiring and commissioning of a system based on the Victron MultiPlus-II 24/5000.

The core components are already available, including a Cerbo GX and display. LiFePO₄ batteries, with the BMS indoors only. The house wiring uses two wires, with zero and neutral connected together. After selecting the “German Grid” setting, I get Error 58. The password zzz and other variants don’t work. I need someone with experience in Victron systems to set everything up professionally.

I’d be pleased to receive offers, recommendations or messages via PM. Many thanks!

Unfortunately, the Victron map is still very sparse in this area; the next one seems to be in Zwickau.
The business there is one of our customers.

It’s always inconvenient when you’ve already bought the parts elsewhere and then have to find someone who will only carry out the commissioning.

Hello Alex, if it were near me, I’d be happy to discuss it in person. However, I’m afraid it’s going to be difficult given that it’s an installation that’s at least 55 years old, without separate protective and neutral conductors. You’d probably have to start with the meter installation, and really, a reputable electrician should insist on overhauling the entire installation. The rules around retaining existing rights are very strict in this case. A backup supply isn’t possible with a TN-C system either.

I know that hurts, but if you look around your home, probably everything has been renewed over the past 50 years: the bathroom, heating, water supply, floors, walls….. only the electrical installation is still „original“. Personally, I wouldn’t upgrade a consumer unit for any customer with an ancient TN-C system and install solar PV while leaving the rest of the installation as it is.

I’d discuss it with a trusted electrician.

Good point.
If the system is to be properly registered with the grid operator, there will probably be further costs.
Possibly a completely new meter cabinet in accordance with current standards; that can quickly cost €1,000 or more.

There is no „grandfathering“ if anything is changed in the system (apart from repairs involving a like-for-like replacement); at the very least, the new part must comply with the current regulations.

At first, I didn’t know much about Victron. I’m used to doing everything myself. Before that, I had Edecoa, but it broke down quickly. I also installed and registered the solar panels myself. I bought them from a Frenchman, and he offers no support. He is on holiday until October, but he continues selling the goods. Yes, thank you, I’ve found one too — the nearest is in Zwickau, but I haven’t received a reply yet. The system is already installed, but the parameters and the conflict with the grid are a problem. This is an old three-storey house, and I’m 73, so I don’t want to rewire the entire house with three wires.

The meter cabinet was newly installed, but replacing the entire electrical wiring in a three-storey house makes no sense. Especially at my age. I’ll probably return the Victron, although the seller doesn’t want me to and is arguing with me about it.

If the distribution board is new, how is the MP2 connected? You can connect it with three cores, with a separate protective conductor, then it should work without any problems, shouldn’t it?

Have you connected anything to AC-out?

Take some photos of the equipment components and upload them.

A little later. Thanks.
