Induction Hob

I am looking to install Dual gas and dual electric hobs on my narrow boat. I have a Multiplus 3000 120.

Are induction hobs harmful to the Multiplus, I realise they cycle very quickly when on low power, not reducing power but cycling between full power on and off.

This verses an old fashioned hot plate which reduces power linearly reflecting the power setting of the hot plate. Example 1 would be 1/10th the power, whereas the induction would be full power for 1/10th of the time.

Do induction hobs harm/stress my wonderful Multiplus because of the type of load.

No personsl experience but I know induction hobs are used in narrowboats and vans using Victron inverters OK. Just make sure that the max power is within range. The Multiplus 3000 is 2400W nominal, lower if it gets hot and derates. Mine is happy running a microwave on low power cycling on and off.

I use induction cooktops (hobs) in my RV (caravan). No worries at all. If you buy a crappy induction hob and your inverter hums a bit, then buy a better hob  That’s about the only advice I can give. They are very commonly used.
