I can't get my multiplus to turn on after swapping a network cable for a longer one

Hi, I’ve got a full Victron Setup with a ve.bus, multiplus 2/3000, cerbo GX, two victron chargers.

I recently swapped out a network cable because we had a very short one between the multiplus and the Cerbo. Correction: The cable goes between the Ve.Bus and the Cerbo.

I’ve tried complete power down, then tried redetecting ve.bus system, rebooting the cerbo in nearly every order I can imagine.

The multiplus does not show up on the cerbo screen unless I have the rocker switch in the ‘on’ position.

but I can’t control the multiplus switch from the cerbo screen like I used to be able to.

Is there a way to bypass the Cerbo and just use the multiplus inverter?

If the multiplus switch is in off position, its off so no comms with the cerbo…

Correct.
If you want to switch it off and on from the GX, then it first needs to be on with the physical switch.

Remove the ethernet cable and power on the multiplus. Then plug it back in. I have to do this every time.

Thanks for this answer. Is this your full startup procedure?

  1. Ve Bus ON, Cerbo ON, network cable OUT, Multiplus OFF

  2. Multiplus ON

  3. Network Cable IN

The only thing I need to power on is the cable between the Quattro and cerbo. It has to be disconnected. Then I can go from off to on on the Quattro. There is a document some where that details why it’s held off. You can do something to alter the wiring in the cable to stop that happening.
