I’m the owner of a used boat that has a victron BMX 712 battery monitor. I’m trying to sign into the vrm so I can monitor the device remotely and i think the previous owner must’ve already registered and so it’s not letting me sign in. How do I de register the old owner so I can register? Thx
To access a BMV-712 battery monitor on the Victron VRM portal, you need to connect the BMV-712 to a GX device like a Cerbo GX, which then communicates with the VRM portal through the internet; access the VRM portal on your computer or phone, and navigate to the connected GX device to view the BMV-712 data, including battery voltage, current, and state of charge.
Thanks for this Danielle. How do I connect the bmv712 to a GX device, through my phone/computer or through the bmv712 unit itself?
Thx
Hi Mike,
You need a VE.Direct cable from the BMV display to the Cerbo and an internet connection. Then you download VRM to your computer or phone. The Cerbo is designed to monitor the whole electrical system but you can also just monitor the batteries if that is all you want to do.
You can read more on the website. Links to manuals, schematics, etc…
This is via bluetooth only. Recovery of the pin requires the PUK. Written physically on the device somewhere.
The VRM requires adding more Victron hardware as mentioned from the GX product range.
