How shall i charge my planned 48V batterybank in my 12V RV? Are there any 12/48V B2B chargers planned? What are reasonable workarounds?
I think you need to get one of these step up voltage converters then you can use 12v to charge the battery ? [DC Voltage Booster Converter,DC/DC 12V to 48V Step up Converter https://www.amazon.co.uk/Converter-Regulator-MoistureâProof-Waterproof-Transformer/dp/B08RRS9389?
Hi @CzarofAK
Victron make converters too, and have a 12/48-8 model for a nominal 380W. https://www.victronenergy.com/upload/documents/Datasheet-Orion-Tr-DC-DC-converters-isolated-100-250-400W-EN-.pdf
The data sheet says âNot intended for battery chargingâ, but prior to the introduction of the Smart Orions they were touted as chargers too. (The 48V models never got the update).
Output V is manually adjustable up to 60V, and could be used to bulk charge Li batteries too.
380W probably enough for most âstandardâ alternators, but more could be added if needed. The remote port useful for switching.
