Hello, I have a motorhome, originally 12V system with a T29C gas inverter Generator.
I’ve installed Solar panels with a Multiplus Inverter 48V, couple to a 48V lithium battery bank. I had to keep the 12V house batteries to start the Generator (Max start 33Amp, as a backup), I want to get rid of the house batteries, can I connect a Victron Converter 48V/12V 30A between the battery bank and the Generator? Could I connect to Victron convertors in parallel to double the Amperage is case I need It?
Thank you.
Hello,
I use to have same trouble but from 24V to 12V.
At the beginning I use to test if 2 ORION 24 to 12 V /70A converter was able to power on/start up the TEC40.
Somehow yes, but to start the Genset, the minimum CCA (Cranking Current) to startup the DIESEL version (TEC40) is nearby 200A … So with 3 devices in parallel (or to use biggest one) it was possible to start it up…
But after some time I Decide to put a small Lithium 12V 4ah with 280A CC (motorbike battery) to start the Genset with a small battery charger to maintain it. (there is various mode to do it, mine, is in some ways particular and use 100% Victron products)
