Help with streetlight mode

Folks,

Simple system: mppt 75/30, CerboGX, battery protect, AGM batteries and smart shunt.

I’m trying to configure the mppt to use the streetlight mode to turn on and off the battery protect, on at dusk and off at dawn.

The issue is that the Ve.Direct cable goes to the GX unit. The streetlight steering page is not accessible through the GX. It’s only available through a Bluetooth dongle. The way I see it , the battery protect is switched using a Ve.Direct cable using the ground and RX wire in the Ve. Direct cable.

When I connect the ground only to the L on the remote connector on the battery protect the battery protect actuates. It should be the H pin that actuates the BP

I also tried using the load output of the mppt but it doesn’t have the ability to have it on a timer.

All this time, I’m switching cables to try to get it working. On top of this it’s not connected to the Cerbo unit.

Questions:

Can the GX unit put out the signal to the battery protect? This would allow the mppt to still be attached to the GX
Will the streetlight mode effect the load output on the mppt?

Victron connect over the vrm tab will allow settings changes. If you sign connect into your vrm

Summary

There are relays on the gx. Then it is just a loop to and from the gX Your fastest way on time assigning it as a generator start stop and setting time as a condition to ‘run’

There is also a way from node red if you want to dig deeper and more closely mimic the streetlight ability.

Yes. See the manual

The streetlight algorithm can also control the load output. The load output is off when the battery voltage is below the load disconnect voltage or when streetlight dimming is at 0%. The load output turns back on when the battery voltage is above the load reconnect voltage and streetlight dimming is between 1 and 100%[/spoiler]*
