Have i made a mistake?

Morning/afternoon all depending on time zones.

Right i have a head scatcher i cant seem to work out. I’ve attached a photo of the system

In brief, battery only system, currently no PV so ignore that side of the image, this was only for G99 approval

Wanting to run ESS through cerbo GX device but i cant get Victron to supply the demand created by the main consumer unit. EM112 is in the main CU and is connector to GX and working, i also have a CT clamp connected as external to Victron on the 25mm tail after the DNO import energy meter

both of which are recognised in main dashboard, CT clamp shows as essential loads and EM112 shows as AC loads.

The sub consumer unit is fed direct in 25mm tails does not go through the main consumer unit. ideally i want the main consumer unit to be fed back from AC IN (single leg mode) and i have another consumer unit downstream i want to connect on AC2 out,

Am i doing something wrong or how its wired isn’t possible as it doesn’t go through the main CU

from my thinking it shouldn’t matter so is it how ive go the energy meter set in remote console or where i’ve placed the CT.

thanks in advance.

from looking at a youtube video. it may be because in ESS i have set metering to external meter, and apparently it needs to be set to inverter/charger even though its an external CT it treats it as an internal

Will try this and report back

The way you wired it yes, set metering in ESS to inverter/charger as well as below.

. Under system setup also change

thanks i will try it and report back in a couple of hours, should have left it on and could have done it remotely

do i set the EM112 as a grid meter or an AC loads?

im guessing AC loads as its not the first thing on the system, the victron comes connects before the EM112.

Works perfectly, was already set in be config, so just changed ess metering and have been running off batteries for the last 3 hrs.

Thanks so much, I knew it would be something simple but for the life of me couldn’t figure it out and gave up at 1am
