Has the BMV-702 recently been made obsolete?

Hello.

Has the BMV-702 recently been made obsolete?

I have a boat with an older 2019 12v Venus GX device using an 2019 bmv-702 to report the SOC of the batteries connected via victron ve.direct cable to the Venus GX.
I also have a 2025 48v Cerbo GX device using a 2019 bmv-702 to report the SOC of it’s batteries connected via a victron ve.direct cable to the Cerbo GX.

Last week, I was doing maintenance and upgraded both GX devices to 3.70 and then 3.71. After a reboot, both BMV-702’s on both systems are gone. They both no longer register as a device on their respective GX device.

How weird is it that both bmv-702’s are gone from two separate GX systems at the same time?
They only thing each system shares is a ground and they report to the same VRM portal.

Any advice on how to get them back?
Or is it planned obsolescence and I need to replace them with newer shunts?

Try to revert back to the previous version to see if they come back, there is an option for that in the FW menu.
After that I would try to update the FW of the BMV.

(I would not recommend to install 3.71 on an old Venus it’s too old for all the new features.)

Thank you for your advice.

I did try reverting back to 3.66 on the 2019 Venus GX device, but no luck.
The bmv-702 did not come back.
So I went to 3.71 and am there now.
