Simple set of scripts that makes it easy to use one GX device as a UI for another over the network. It basically just modifies the UI startup script to read a config file with the remote device info you want to connect to and starts the GUI pointed at that host with command line options. It also installs a small proxy service for connecting using secure MQTT even though the GUI code only supports cleartext.
I’m using this on an ekrano(that I’m eventually going to replace) in the cab of my RV, with a cerbo I’m adding in the crawlspace to run the power gear. I was going to use both GX devices, with split responsibilities(a la Multiple GX Devices via Ve.CAN - #7 by lxonline ), but the drawbacks were just too much for me. The ekrano will be replaced with probably an RPI-powered display that runs info/control UI(and/or homeassistant/whatever) for the whole system which includes the victron setup, while also still being able to run the GX GUI pointed at the cerbo as an app.
Victron OSS work is awesome!
