Cerbo GX local LAN connection? (like: Remote Console via WiFi)

Trying to set-up a Cerbo GX with a local LAN connection so I get the functionality like the Remote Console when connected to the Cerbo via WiFi.

This is for offline use, where no Internet connectivity exists, but I want to monitor the equipment in another room and the WiFi connection from the Cerbo is intermittent.

Does the Cerbo have DHCP on the Ethernet port and will it pick-up an address from a local router, if connected? Does setting a manual IP on the Cerbo work, if connected to a hub and another device (PC, etc) is on the same subnet?

Yes and Yes.

When using DHCP, you can easily find the Cerbo by using “venus.local” as the URL. No internet needed, just a local router to provide the IP’s.

When using Fixed IP, then you should not even need the router.

Sweet! I’ll give it a go!

Could you provide a little more detail on how to do this?

I want to do essentially the same thing as the OP, adding LAN access to the Cerbo from a building out of wifi range. I have a Switch and a hub I can dedicate to connecting the Cerbo to a PC in that other building.

You can connect both interfaces but there is priority for which is used for internet.
On the latest version 3.71 you can now set which interface is used for internet access, this avoids the routing and conflict issues that happened before.

And if there is no regular internet available, the LAN connection should work without issue, yes?

Absolutely but it can get confused if you try access it via both interfaces.

Thanks! I tried it out this morning and it worked just fine with venus.local.

And, it works without a hub or switch - a plain network cable between the Cerbo and a PC gives one access to the Cerbo.
