Good quality powered usb hub

I’ve read a number of responses on these pages to questions about making multiple usb connections to a Cerbo GX. Some of them quote the words from the manual ‘use a good quality powered usb hub’, without elaboration. Assuming that ‘powered’ means drawing power from an external source (not the Cerbo), I’ve been looking for a hub than can be powered from the 12v supply in my caravan. However, I’m having difficulty finding anything suitable in Australia. Recommendations welcome please.

H Russell and welcome to the community.

I use one of these below and have found them to be very reliable, might be a bit over-kill for what need tho.
UH720 | USB 3.0 7-Port Hub with 2 Charging Ports | TP-Link Australia

TP-Link USB 3.0 7-Port Charging Hub | Officeworks

Thanks Dave. I was trying to find one that I could power from the 12v battery supply, but I guess since the system will have an inverter I can use a 240v power source. It means I’ll need a 240v outlet in my 12v power cabinet.

Hi Russell

one that I could power from the 12v battery supply,

Check out the spec, see below. You might be able to.

Dave.

Use caution when picking up DC power. I bought a hub that had the polarity mislabeled and it ruined the USB cables and the USB ports on my Cerbo. Not sure how ground shifts are handled in a system with USB hubs. I now have 6 of the Victron USB cables, along with a GPS module, running to a pair of 4 into 1 USB splitter cables powered from the Cerbo directly.
