I am old and my eyes are not the best, so I would like to use a larger monitor. I am using a Waveshare 15.6 touchscreen monitor (mainly because I read that smaller Waveshare monitors work straight out of the box).
The display is working great. The touchscreen is not working correctly.
The only time I get the touch screen to work is when I push the menu button on the bottom right of the screen. If touch anywhere else on the screen nothing happens.
The monitor and touchscreen work correctly with a Windows PC, so the touchscreen is not the problem.
I contacted Waveshare support and they said:
“You can try to compile the universal touch driver “hid-multitouch” into the kernel. Generally, it will be able to support touch functions then.”
I did some research and found this:
https://communityarchive.victronenergy.com/questions/217283/getting-hid-multitouch-kernel-module-in-future-ven.html
It says to make sure your kernel version matches. It does not.
The file available to download is hid-multitouch510109-venus-10.zip for kernel version 5.10.109-venus-10.
I SSH into the Cerbo GX and it is running kernel version 5.10.109-venus-17.
Any suggestions on how to get the touchscreen working properly with this Cerbo GX?
Thanks in advance
