For the Quattro or Multiplus, with Fischer Panda i series generators, Fischer Panda recommend to not use Dynamic Current Limit or UPS and to reduce the Power Assist function from 2.0 to 1.3. The FP manual states it here. https://www.fischerpanda.de/fileadmin/user_upload/generators/handbooks/FPO1-0010767.pdf. Page 103.
In a marine application we often have contrained shore power. In this case the benefit of power assist set to default of 2.0 is a great thing because if the shore power is limited to say, 16amps, we can handle up to 32 amps of inrush current on loads on the output of the Inverter. Not only that, it allows “rightsizing” of the generator so a smaller generator can handle the shock loads of AC units etc.
If the power assist is restrained because of the type of generator we are using, we lose a lot of the benefit of using the Victron Quattro or Multiplus.
Is it possible to change the power boost factor when going from AC in1 and AC in2? In other words can we reduce the power assist to a level deemed necessary by the Fischer Panda generator, and bring it back to default so that we can use the full potential of the unit when on shore power?
Maybe I have this wrong but it seems by choosing the Fischer Panda generator a major feature of the Victron Quattro or Mulitplus must be sacrificed. Dynamically changing the Power Boost factor may at least allow the full benefit of the Quattro when on shore power.
