Firmware update for CCGX last night? Now lost all BMS connections v3.60

I’ve had a bad – and very costly – year with Victron (see error messages from 10 Feb 2025), but at least my confidence in Victron is returning now that there is active follow-up on problems. Thank you kindly for that.

I have removed the MPPT that is currently unable to establish a stable BMS connection from the system. With that, everything is working properly again for now. I’ll wait for the firmware update for the time being, but I suspect I will end up going for a new GX device. I simply can’t afford to run an unstable system. We depend on it 24/7, so it needs to be reliable.

I deactivated SignalK - no more #67 failures V3.55 and V3.60

Let’s see how to bring back SK & KIP

Hey @BobU ,

Yes I’m aware of that incident. (..).

Happy to help.

With four MPPTs and two battery monitors, that GX is really at its max.

Replacing it with a more powerful one is really the best solution. Everything else is will be “band-aid”.

We’re still analysing and have found some significant improvements to be made; especially around boot-up time - which in most cases will prevent the system shutdowns due to no BMS that we’ve seen in the past days.

For sure the ones that happened on systems where the outage was a single time after/during the update to v3.60 and thereafter didn’t happen again.

But there are no significant general CPU load reductions expected, and that means that your CCGX, when that fourth MPPT is connected back, will remain rebooting now and then. Probably without leading into an inverter shutdown; but still not really good.

In hindsight, we should not have released v3.60 as is. Going forward we’ll take a much better look at boot time including when the OS updates settings and such from a previous version.

Perhaps with a more powerful GX device you can benefit from some Shelly plug integration or other Home automation that we’re planning ;o).

Have a good evening,

Thanks for all the advice.
First thing tomorrow morning will be ordering a CerboGX and continue from then on.

Have a good evening too.
