Cerbo GX M2 V3.54 #67 BMS Communication lost

Having big problems !

I currently have 4 systems having problems.

1 x Cerbo GX M2 running V3.54, Mulitiplus II, Smartsolar MPPT, 3 x 100ah Pylontech 12v batteries. (will randomly drop BMS connection and will only come back online if I reboot the Cerbo GX causing the batteries not to charge from solar as needed, installed 2 months ago and was working fine unit now )

1 x Cerbo GX M2 running V3.54, Mulitiplus II, Smartsolar MPPT, 3 x 100ah Pylon 12v batteries.
(will randomly drop BMS connection for 30 seconds and come back on its own casing big problems for RedNode, installed 3 months ago and was working fine unit now )

1 x Cerbo GX M2 running V3.54, Mulitiplus II, Smartsolar MPPT, 3 x 100ah Topband batteries.
(will randomly drop BMS connection for 30 seconds and come back on its own casing big problems for Node red ,installed 2 months ago and was working fine unit now )

1 x Cerbo GX M1 running V3.54, Mulitiplus II, Smartsolar MPPT, 4 x 100ah Topband batteries.
(When updated to V3.54 by customer, lost BMS immediately and we cant get it back online at all) * this system has been running fine for over a year)

Im pulling my hair out it seems like systems that were running fine are now playing up.

We have install at least 30 systems using both type of setups above, without issues until now.

I have personally been to site for each one and check the systems over (and settings) hours of monitoring on VRM to try and work out WHY this is happening ! Rolled back firmware, everything updated,Checked battery health and coms.

The only thing I can see that is common/changed to all is V3.54 ? as the systems were working fine. but rolling back doesn’t change anything ?

After taking to my Victron supplier and reading this forum. Im going to go back to the Cerbo GX M2s and swap to Can port to 1 and see how that changes things, but this would be a 500 mile round trip so going to cost me ! However rather that than my good reputation.

Absolutely gutted !

Update: I had another system go down today with a Cerbo GX M2 same as above systems. It was close by so I went straight over and swapped the can port to port 1 and it has seems to have worked (upto now)
Victron what’s going on ! There’s something up !

My supplier has very kindly offered to swap out the Cerbo GX M2 on my upcoming installs to Cerbo S hopefully that will sort for now but we need a proper hard fix to this issue NOW !!!

All this running around and time firefighting is costing me a fortune !!!

Hi if you are talking about venus os 2.54, its an older version, current is 3.53, so might be worth to update to that including updating all devices connected, keep in mind that you might need to config the system again

Could also be that updating to 2.54 all other connected hardware should be update too

Victron advise is never too update a running system, only when you need new features or have problems

You can in node red (at least on the newer versions) auto reboot the GX when this happens.

Sorry it’s 3.54 my bad it was late when I wrote the post
