Faulty RJ45 Ve.Bus cable

I had an RJ45 lead which has lost connection on pins 5 and 7. As pin 5 is one half of the RS485, it managed to get a few messages through with lots of errors.
However, what I found curious is that the only messages getting through were “A” (set address) and “V” (version). Any thoughts? What would the lack of connection on pin 7 make it do?

Multiplus-II inverter not switching On with VE.Bus cable to Cerbo GX Connected

There are low level reasons that this has a dedicated pin, like for low powered BMS safety states where the inverter should be really off as much as possible to prevent a phantom discharge load from further draining an already flat battery that has no other method to protect itself. Quattro/Multiplus: Three different types of "off"

The Multiplus2/Quattro can be off in three different ways: Switch set to centre position. Remote link disconnected “S” command with data=4. Are all these equivalent? I note that it does still respond to commands from the Mk2 interface when shut down with “S4”. If the Master is shut down with the remote link, do the slaves shut down as well, or do they all need the remote link? Is the VeBus/Mk2 interface active when shut down from the link or the switch? I could make sure the the Quattro/Multiplus is not taking battery current whilst I soft start it.
Pity that it’s not so easy to connect to the Ve.Bus cable as one end is in the Mk.2 interface and the other end is in the Multiplus. I don’t suppose that pin can be controlled from the Mk.2 interface. . . . ?
