EVCS NS crashing and software freeze

@Lpopescu

Edit - I think I’ve discovered the issue that has caused the below problems. I’ve discovered that our installer has taken the feed to the EVCS from an existing 32A breaker in our full consumer unit and found it tripped in the off position. I’m not an electrician, but presume that running he EVCS at 32A for a long time, isn’t the best thing to do through a 32A breaker. I’ve asked them to come back and change the breaker for a 40A one, so hopefully this won’t happen again. :person_facepalming:

Hello, we’ve been running an EVCS NS integrated into our grid tied MP2 system within VRM for a few months now, but we’ve only been using it in auto excess solar mode in the afternoons to keep our car topped up.

We are UK based and our energy supplier is Octopus Energy. On Sunday afternoon, they gifted everyone 2 hours of free electric, so I put our car on charge in manual mode at the full 32A (single phase connection) for the full 2 hours. The charger did charge the car for the full 2 hours.

The issue we experienced was when we came to stop the charge from within VRM. Something within the EVCS related system seems to have crashed. I had to stop the car charging from within the Kia Niro EV app because several things had happened -

  1. Within VRM, see screenshot below, the EVCS sub menu had crashed at 1hr 22 mins showing 7360W, but the car still charged for the full 2 hours. You can see the grid value is showing at -17W as I’d already stopped the car charging.

  1. Within VRM, when entering the control button menu on the top right, the EVCS control menu had vanished. See screenshot -

  1. I went into the device list and scrolled down to the EVCS and tried to access the EVCS web interface and get this error message -

Edit - I forgot to add that I can no longer see the EVCS within Victron Connect either.

I’ve turned the circuit breaker off to the charger, waited a few minutes and turned it back on, but it hasn’t made any difference.

Any suggestions please?

Thanks in advance.
