EVCS - NS charger single phase or 3 phase

Hi,
I have a OFFgrid - 3 x 8 KW quattro with 24 KWh BYD LVS pro with 15KWp solar through two no CC RS 450/100 , 250 /100 CC and fronius Symo 6 KVA solar I want to connect the EV charging to AC out -1 as my 6 KVA Fronius is connected to AC1 to maximize the use of solar
I under stand the EVCS minimum current is 6 amp Which roughly equates to 1.5 KW. My BYD seal can charge at 7 KW as per specifications which seems to be 7 KW single phase ( car internal AC charger ) - BYD Seal Charging Guide: Charge times, speed and cost | Zecar

If I set the charge current to 10 amp ( 2.5 KW) but connect input from a 3 phase quattro . Will the charger draw equally from all 3 phases 2.5 KW x 3 =7.5 or will use one phase and load it to 2.5 KW
I dont have a charger yet ( on order) .

As the quattro safe loading at 35 DEG is 5.9 KW without Fronius producing at full capcity and no load coming from house there is no way for me to run at full charge speed of 7 KW .

I hope in future the Chargin station has binary input so can activate diffrent current limits automatically

Your car charger is single phase, so only the L1 phase will be used and the limit set will apply to it and the L1 Quattro. L2/L3 will be unused. You may want to consider connecting the EVCS as single phase since your vehicle cannot use L2/L3 at this time.

@ejrossouw Thank you .

So essentially I will have to look for a scoot transformer to add to the system from 3 phase to 1 phase conversion - some thing like this but for EU specifications This is US -
I wish Victron would do a standard tafo unit similaraly to what they do as isolation transformer . That will be a diffrenetiating point to all other EV chargers

If you connect EVCS as the single-phase device you will see current going only through the phase you connected to. If you connect all 3 phases current will be equally split around 3 phases.

In your situation of maximization of solar: hard to say as you have fronious and victron DC in same time. so there might be the following situation:

  1. Fronius generates 5kW on L1
  2. RS 450/100 and 250 /100 generates 10kW
If you have only L1 connected to EVCS you can maximum get 8kW charging power if NO other loads on L1. Only 3 kW from DC chargers will not be utilized (10kW generated as in example - 5kW from Fronius), rest will go to battery or loads
If you have 3 phases attached, you can get up to 22kW charging power, and from this table looks like your car supports it. So if you go with 3 phase you can better utilize solar generation and charge car ar least 2 times faster

Thank you the Fronius is Symo so 3 phase max 2 kW per phase - but I found out from BYD leaflate that it can support 11 KW 3 phase not 22 which is perefect so I can use 3 phase and set phase current to max 4 kw avoiding overloading the inverters during sudden rainy consitions .

Will post deratils on final outcome when the charger gets deilvered and installed

The link you posted stated the seal has a 7kW single phase charger, but the other post aligns with the BYD site being AC 11kW. If uncertain in any way check with the dealership that sold you the vehicle.
