HI Lucian, The charger stayed online for the last 48 hours accesible via ip for webinterface which is an improvement from the previous firmware but the mqtt broadcast stopped about 36 hours since last powercycle. I haven’t powercycled again which will probably restore that again?
is it online? can we access it remotely?
Yes it is online, I rebooted it this morning. The webinterface stayed active it could still charge on auto got the info from the gx. The gx however stop displaying it on the dashboard. After I rebooted the charger it still didn’t show right and only appeared on the gx dashboard once I rebooted the gx.
Everything is online now, I will report once something goes off again.
so it is not an issue with the wifi, it is something between the GX and the EVCS. Next time when this is happening, do not restart anything, just tell me so we can have a look
@Lpopescu I also have issues with wifi dropping and would like to switch to MQTT. I am running VenusOS 3.80 and 2.08 on my EVCS. How can I enable the EVCS to use MQTT? I don’t see any settings for that.
Hi Lucean. My issue started again now. The webpage of charger is stil up and it sees the battery soc and ac loads and I can still charge on auto. The mqtt stop transmitting. From the vrm I still see the charger on the dashboard but if I try to acces the charger via the devices’ control panel in VRM I get the message ‘Error: remote installation does not seem to have a running service.’
I will leave it like this and won’t restart you can log in.
Can you leave it like that for tomorrow? I will ask one of my colleagues to have a look.
Hi, the issue was found, your gx device was patched
I’ve been seeing the same behavior today: the EVCS keeps disconnecting every couple of minutes. I’m on a Ubiquiti setup with a dedicated 2.4 GHz IoT SSID for the GX device, minimum data rate disabled, and the signal looked okay. I was trying to charge a Tesla using only solar surplus, with no grid import.
The EVCS was only reachable over Bluetooth; Wi‑Fi kept dropping. While it was stopped, it showed “waiting for sun,” but that didn’t seem to match reality because the sun was up with clear sky and PV was around 5 kW, so production shouldn’t have been the limiting factor.
Before stopping, charging kept alternating between “starts charging in” and “stop charging in” with countdown timers, then back again. When it was stopped, Wi‑Fi appeared to drop as well. Has anyone found a reliable fix on UniFi networks, or is this mainly an EVCS Wi‑Fi/firmware issue?
Don’t really understand the behavior, based on what does it determine to stop or start again?

gx version: v3.75
