My understanding of the et112 and Victron is that the rj45 connections are not supported and you should use the hardwired terminals.
Victron expects this to be connected by ONE of their usb to rs485 adapter directly to the gx device, with nothing else connected to the bus
now the et112 is not actually made by Victron and that manufacturer allows the device to be present in a traditional modbus network.
The rj45 Connectors are for rs485 not Ethernet. And when used with rs485 you need to make sure you set addresses master/slave and have a 120ohm bus terminator.
otherwise explain what/how you are making your connections and what you are connecting it to. Then I can comment further
Well the ET112 is connected for 3 years now via an RJ45 connector on the left port of the ET112 and then connected to a serial USB converter at the Victron side directly into the USB. It happened me twice in two weeks. Even the manufacturer haven’t seen this behavior like the orange led blinking. Victron had made an remote support request that I will allow to look at the system if they can find anything.
You could download the carlo gavazzi ucs software utility for these meters, than you can check settings and could also do a factory reset
connecting it on RJ45 or screw terminal makes no difference, either will work, only terminiation is not available thru rj 45, that has to be on the screw terminals
Resetted the device but still sometimes orange led’s. This one is defective and the manufacturer will investigate it. However I still need to update to another VenusOS because of the missing VM options in Node-Red before I can send it in for RMA.
