ESS stops working following excess power consumption on MP2

Hello, happy user of ESS in a single phse set up. Using MP2 3000/48 with a 5kwh Lifepo4 battery. Using a current sensor and have checked “Grid metering” to “Inverter charger”. Grid set point of 150w. Mains connected only to AC1, no critical loads used.

I am using the ESS to increase self consumption of AC coupled solar, and the grid set point keep battery charging when sun is up, and discharging during night.

All work really well until the consumption of the phase is exceeding about 2,5kw, which is about the limit for the MP2. I am have limited the “Inverter power” to 2kw, and with that I would hope that any excess of 2kw would simply be drawn from the grid, since this is not passing through the MP2.

BUT, following a short time (1 min or so) of excess power the inverter shuts down and battry mode changes from "Discharging to “Bulk”, zero amps. What´s worse, following this event I need to physically restart the MP2, for it to get back to normal operations.

Any idea of what I can do differently to allow for higher power consumption on the phase, not shutting down the MP2?

What do you mean with. have mains on ac1?
Do you mean ac in or do you mean ac out 1?

Thanks for pointing it out! What I meant to say is that the mains is connected to AC IN only. AC OUT 1 & 2 are not used.

Hello again, I might have found the soltion(s) to my issue;

  1. I had DVCC activated despite my battery setup is not compatible. This sorted out the “manually restart the MP2”
  2. Switching from “Optimized without battery life” to “With battery life” enabled the functionality of having the MP2 to continue to use energy from the battery bank when total power exceed that of the MP2.
    For #2 it was actually in the ESS manual :wink:
