ESS: Discharge not exceeding 10 W

Hi,

I am trying to the my ESS running but the inverter only feeds 10 W from battery into the grid.

Here is my setting:

  • PV cells 23 kWp, SMA STX20 inverter (both in place sind 2022)
  • just installed: AC-connected Multiplus II connected to Felicity FLA48300 (LUX-Y-48300LG01). MPII connected on AC-in, nothing gon AC-out’s
  • infrared sensor on grid meter publishing meter values via webserver on a raspi
  • VenusOS with python script requesting the webserver, parsing values and feeding in via dbus (s. here)
  • Both battery SoC and grid values are properly showing up in VenusOS-UI. However, I would expect the MPII to feed about 800 W but it doesn’t
  • If PV generates energy the battery loading starts properly

I felt a bit confused about the number of different places for settings of Battery, ESS, Dynamic ESS. But here is what I assume is relevant (but apparently I am missing an important point). Any idea?

Update: I had a fuse being switched off on AC-out. I disconnected it, not discharge is around 0 W.

I am confused. I have set MPII to inverter-only and the state below that still mentions “bulk loading”. Battery is in idle mode. Maybe bulk loading means loading from AC-in to AC-out?

ESS Relais test seems to make trouble. After re-scan of VE.bus and then restart VE.bus is shows “finished” and MPII is set to “charger-only” and state off. When I then switch MPII to “on = charger+inverter” it takes about a minute, then state switches to buld loading and ESS Relais test to “pending”.

Forget about it: It was the rocker switch. S. FAQ Question 9 under “Lastly…” 10. FAQ
