ESS Maximum Charging Power from Grid

Hi,

When charging batteries from the grid, some FW updates back I could control the maximum Charging Power from the System Setup-ESS-Maximum Charge Power. But for some reason it lately or for some time has refused to go above 3700/3800W.

This is the same scenario in Keep Batteries Charged and Scheduled Charge.

Is something changed in any of the new FW updates? Was able to control it earlier and have not made any changes to my setup.

Charging during night time with only 3800W is not always enough.

Any help would be appreciated.

P.S. Charging from solar the system is working as expected = much more W into the batteries.

Have a 3 phase system setup with:
3x MultiPlus II 48V/5000/70.
1x MPPT Charger RS 450 / 200.
Cerbo GX
30kW battery bank Vision/Victron.
VECan Battery Shunt 1000 with Lynx Power and Distributor 1000.

Everything has been running perfect from day 1 except this minor bug with the maximum charge power?

Please check your “Charger” setting in VE Configure and/or Victron Connect (if this is already possible here)…
may be it is set to 25A … and could be higher.

25A + 50V … around 1250W per singel Multi
x3 = around 3800W for 3 Multis together

Seeking to understand the logic. Your figures seem correct as they tally with the datasheet. In that case, would it be correct to set above 25A per multi? Or change the charging voltage?

Hi, here Charger Settings.

The question here would be… at 89% SOC, your BMS could already be regulating the maximum charging current down… Check your CCL value in the battery settings at that moment…
Or maybe the 54V Float is a little bit to low
In terms of voltage, not much happens in this range with LiPoFe.
The charging capacity of the Multis also decreases with extended use due to heat…
