Energy meter needed for DESS all power over multiplus II

I am wondering if I need an energy meter for DESS (Dynamic ESS) when all connections coming into the home are running directly via the Multiplus II. All loads/AC-inverters are after the Multiplus

I could not find information about this in the documentation as in moest examples there are loads or panels before the Multiplus/Quatro.

I have the same question. From what I understand it will work as you describe it. The Multiplus will be the energy meter. Not sure if the accuracy is good enough when for example you’re not allowed to feed back to the grid.

If someone can confirm this, that would be great.

I think this answers our question: Dinamic ess and no gridmeter but whole house on ups

Im running 3 phase system with whole house UPS using MP II internal measuring. I havnt noticed any large discrepancies between vrm and utility measurements. Only thing i’ve noticed, is during full capacity export the internal measurment overestimates house consumption by a couple hundred Watts. I.E if my base load is 300 W it will show 500 W for the same baseload consumption during maximum capacity export. Not sure if this is remedied by external meter though.
