EM540/ET112 for 2 solar inverters

Hello,

I have the following situation.
Three phase installation (3N400V) with a PV inverter on L1 and a PV inverter on L2.
How do I measure these PV inverter currents?

Option 1: 2x ET112?
This does not seems feasible as it isn’t possible to set the ET112 PV inverter to another phase than L1. Does anybody has a workaround for this?

Option 2: 1x EM540?
I would leave the L3 input/output unconnected. Will this work if I set this to a three phase solar inverter? Does anybody has experience with this?

If you know any other solutions to leave the inverters on their phases and measure the currents, please let me know.

Thank you and kind regards,

Bram

You’re right, as far as I know the ET112 is only designed for L1 applications.
But use a 3-phase meter instead. The EM540 or the older ET340 should work without problems. It does not count, that L3 is without any energy. They will just measure what is available on which phase and will report this to your system.
An other option could be a Shelly 3EM. It has a good and stable integration and it works over WiFi, so no cabeling for RS485 is needed (and maybe no additional RS485->USB adapter is needed).
I have such a shelly running almost 1,5 years without any problem. There is a simple integration available for Venus OS on Github from Fabian Lauer (as far as I remember).

Oke thank you !
The Shelly 3EM meter seems as a worthy replacement indeed.
How does this work with dynamic IP adresses? Do I need to assign a fixed IP adress in the router or does this work automagically?

I am not that familiar with this topic, but the IP Adress should not change.
As far as I know, within a network the once assigned IP is not changed any more.

What I definitely know is, that you have to configure the script in Venus OS and enter the correct IP address of the Shelly meter.
