Hit a dead end with trying to get an ekrano to communicate with eg4 24v rack mount batteries , I have been on the phone with eg4 annnnnd the distributor both telling me different things but both had no confirmation that they in fact do communicate successfully .I have tried different cables / updates / protocols etc .
I have 6 plus years exclusively installing Victron products of all kinds and never had an issue with the products .
It doesn’t work because that battery’s BMS is talking through RS485 to the inverter or whatever.
Ekrano is talking through CAN with the battery’s BMS.
So different interface, different protocol.
Those batteries are designed with the architecture of Taiwanese/Chinese-like inverters in mind - MPPSolar, Voltronic, Growatt, Deye, etc.

I moved this to modifications based on what Alex has said.
This is considered unsupported by Victron. We strongly recommend using known tested and working batteries from our compatibility list - Battery Compatibility [Victron Energy]
This is old but FYI EG4 “Communications Hub” Acts as an EG4 RS485 to CAN Bus translator and supports Victron CAN Bus Protocols. You do need to make a custom pin out cable as the pins are not the same. I use it for my LifePower Rack Stack and it works fine. I see no reason the same cannot be used for the Ekrano
You do need latest firmware and to modify the default signal baud rate.
