Dynamic ESS Time Discrepancy?

Hi!

I was trying to setup Dynamic ESS, I’ve gone through the configuration and all went ok, but comparing the prices from the VRM graph with OMIE and ENTSOE there is a 1-2 hour shift. I am in Portugal, and we do add 1 hour in the summer. I have location correctly set in VRM, and the date/time is set in the Cerbo to GMT Standard Time Europe/Lisbon.

I realised I can set the ENTSOE site to WET, which then agrees makes it agree with VRM. In OMIE website, the time shift is 2 hours - I see a price in VRM at 7:30 that shows up in OMIE at 09:30. OMIE website says it’s time is CET but that is 1h difference, not the 2 hours I’m seeing.

Can I trust the time displayed in VRM is correct? Or do I need to change anything in my setup? I found a similar thread, but in the end I couldn’t figure out how they’d fixed it.

Thank you!

We also discovered som timing issues - Local time seems to be correct in the dashboard (14:28) but in the Remote console settings it shows 13:28

Our issue is, that we have a big leap in the price at 17:00 (5 pm) but as you can see the leap here appears at 18:00 (6 pm)

Hi,

first you have to check if your settings for the timezone is correct.. You Victron internally always works with UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) .. See screenshots marked with red.
You then have to set the correct timezone to adapt this to the area where you live .. See screenshot in green.

If this is not correct, then you have to adapt it.
In addition I would check if your VRM location is set correctly.. this also could contribute as DESS calculations are done in VRM.. not 100% sure though and I do not want to change anything in my system to test it
