I want to turn on Dynamic ESS so I can do some tests on my system. In the VRM, I have turned on the DESS toggle. It says next to it, Toggle Dynamic ESS controls for this installation. By turning this on, you will be able to toggle the Dynamic ESS mode (On/Off) from the Controls menu on your installation’s dashboard.
The dashboard says Dynamic ESS on.
BUT, on the Cerbo display it says
DESS. Mode- Auto, Status Inactive.
Has anyone got any ideas on how to get DESS working?
Alternatively, as I don’t intend using DESS just yet and only want to do some tests when the inverter is exporting to the grid, is there a way of making this happen?
I had enabled DESS correctly but forgot about changing the grid setpoint. Now that I have done that, I can export.
The reason for the tests I want to do is because I’m trying to complete a G100 application. I have a Victron document about the G100 application which requires testing how quickly the inverter stops delivering power to the grid when it looses communication with the AC sensor (ET100 in my case) or power is lost to the Color Control (I have a Cerbo GX so presumably the same applies).
The times are <3 seconds so I’m going to have to measure and record that somehow. any help on that would be appreciated.
