Does Cerbo do Everything the USB cable does?

Hi guys simple question here. I just got my first MP II and bought the USB adapter for it too. I was thinking of returning it though and getting a Cerbo GX 2 but this brings up a question, can you do everything with the Cerbo GX that you can with the USB cable?

And I mean everything, like virtual relays etc. The assistants and all that.

Almost. There is a manual here.

Main difference is no live data and you have to download - edit - upload the config file, which is ok when you configure once but gets real tiresome real fast when you’re troubleshooting.

Also you cannot check/edit the settings when the cerbo and/or the network infrastructure is down.

So for smaller non critical installations it should be fine.

Thank you!

Do you know if you have to buy a VE cable as well or can it use regular network cable to connect to the multiplus?

VE bus uses standard ethernet cables.

Tip: as I struggled with it… do know that there are Ethernet cables that only have 4 wires connected (normally 8), they are supplied with several internet service provider routers. Such “4 wire” Ethernet cable doesn’t work with MK2 / MK3 / Cerbo GX.

So, If you can´t get a connection, check your cable.

return both, the MP2 and the cable, and get a MP2-GX

All-in-one-solution

@kr0815 the OP is in North America/ 120v land, we don’t have the all-in-ones here.

ok, sorry, didnt know that

Thank you everyone, I returned the cable and ordered it in. It’s more than I wanted to spend but I have to be able to monitor it to be able to troubleshoot it.
