Hello,
I would like to set up a Victron ESS system and would appreciate your feedback.
I already have a 6 kW Enphase photovoltaic installation, consisting of 3 kW facing south and 3 kW facing west.
To optimise the use of my solar generation, I would like to install a battery in my crawl space and obtain expert advice to check whether this is a suitable option.
Here is the equipment I am considering purchasing:
- MultiPlus-II 48/6k5/100-50 230V
- Cerbo GX MK2
- MK3-USB interface
- DFELECTRIC - NH T00 160A
- T00 125A knife-blade HPC fuse
- ET340 or VM-3P75CT energy meter
- EEL 14.366 kWh battery
The consumer unit is in the garage, whereas I would like to install the Victron system and the battery in the crawl space (see photo below).
The average humidity there is 70%, with peaks of 80%, and no condensation.
The crawl space will be secured with a locked door.
I chose a battery of less than 15 kWh, certified to IEC 62619, in order to avoid additional requirements during the Consuel inspection.
I plan to install it on a stand so that it does not rest directly on the floor. Unlike Pylontech batteries, it will not be placed in a cabinet, but will remain in a closed room.
1 - Does the proposed installation location seem suitable to you?
I plan to use a single fuse holder, as the installation will contain only one battery. The pack’s data sheet specifies a maximum charge and discharge current of 200 A, while the cell data sheet gives a value of 0.5 P, i.e. 140 A (280 Ah × 0.5). I am therefore considering using a 125 A fuse, which is below this limit, and limiting charging and discharging to 100 A. The cables will have a cross-sectional area of 70 mm².
2 - Does the selected fuse rating seem appropriate to you?
3 - For current measurement, which piece of equipment seems more suitable: the ET340 or the VM-3P75CT?
4 - Could you also examine my schematic to validate my choice of AC and DC protection devices?
