DC-Only, hide the AC UI…

Hi,

I have a DC only system, is it possible to hide the inverter and AC loads in the UI?

Thanks

Not at the moment as the Victron ecosystem is typically built around ac to dc and dc to ac conversion. However, as the new gui matures there may be enhancements for less common systems.

The old UI had some modification implemented, just for that.
See here: Where has my GUI mods Icon gone?
Maybe, in time, it will be here too…

Solar powered microwave links are DC only (indeed many are 24-28vdc) so those sites only need DC . The additional icons just waste space for a DC only application. I too have been able to use GUI mods to eliminate the unneeded icons on the screen. There are many DC applications where this will be very handy. As more and more folks move to solar to power remote devices.

I hope the Devs will take into account this growing usage area. The MPPT 75/10 75/15 and 100/20 charge controllers are ideal for these applications.

Here is my site running GUImods Only the needed icons

Thanks for confirming.

Presume that doesn’t work with the new UI yet?

The developer of guimods has said it will not be implemented in new gui.

True, GuiMods will not be migrated into gui-v2. Most of the enhancements made by GuiMods are already present in gui-v2 so there is little point. As I’ve stated before, trying to fill the screen with numbers as I did in GuiMods flow overview so that one screen tells the entire story was a fools errand. There is simply just too much information even in a fairly simple system. The “drill down” approach to provide additional details added to GuiMods at one point is now part of gui-v2 and is a far better way to organize information and minimize clutter.

One thing that I hope is tried is a “numberless” presentation. That is, ALL information is presented with gauges rather than numeric values. Numbers are difficult to relate to system maximums and don’t easily show trends (is the new value more or less than the previous one). So an overview page could save space by eliminating the numbers in favor of more gauges. Along these lines, history is best shown as a graph but these take more space, so maybe this is something for the drill-downs.

I am hoping to add a portion of GuiMods functionality to gui-v2 when modification mechanisms are in place: the generator enhancements that synchronize the manual start state with changes in the generator digital input; and factoring in an external transfer switch.

I too would like the option to hide the non required AC elements of my DC only setup in my RV. Even on my touch 70 screen the text size is a bit small for my 53 year old eyes! Being able to hide the unnecessary AC tiles would make the tiles I’m interested in larger and would enhance my interface.

Thanks for all your hard work

i am running a DC only system aswell in my Camper. i never had the intention on using AC in the Camper. I was quite happy that i could hide all the AC Stuff in Gui V1 (big thankyou to @kwindrem for all the work he has done) and i’m missing that option aswell. Hope something like that will be added someday.
