Smart battery protect picks up a short circuit yet when I test the circuit I can’t find any signs of a short circuit. When connect this circuit to the system the smart BMS fails to pre charge and close the contactor… However once the system is working and I reconnect the circuit the system works happily. Any ideas thanks
What have you hot on the circuit. If it is any power electronics such as an inverter or DC to DC charger with large input capacitor banks then the Smart Battery Protect sees the inrush current. The same issue has been reported with Lynx Smart BMS units if there is too much capacitive load. You may need to isolate things before starting the BMS then switching them on stagewise.
