Custom consumption forecast

Hi there - does anyone know if it’s possible to set a custom consumption forecast in VRM?

I’d like to try basing mine off of a simple 7 day rolling average. The default forecast is good, but is getting thrown off by our EV charger.

Thanks,
AP

Hi!

We are working on allowing you to adjust the consumption forecast in VRM indeed! I will announce it once it is live

Hi,

I’m a bit concerned about the control strategy for DESS. The objective is a BSOC for the next hour, right? So what happens if the energy consumption is suddenly higher due to a Heatpump or EV charger. The BSOC can’t be achieved, so DESS decides to buy from the grid even when in the next hour a discharge at lower prices is planned. This is what happened at 17:30. So I could have charged my car with 0.04€. I purchased for 0.30€ and later on I sold it for less the 0.15€ this isn’t smart.

So what should be the control strategy. The objective should be to sell or buy a number of kWh based on the energy surplus in the coming 24h. From that you derive the best hours to sell or buy. What happens now if the forecast is off. At 17:30 the planned selling would have continued. But for the next hours. The selling would have been cancelled since there is no surplus anymore. In the coming 24h you calculate when the BSOC becomes too low or too high and before that point in time your buy or sell should take place at the best available prices. So the BSOC is not a set point. It is a constraint. Maybe this is all implemented, but then I would like to know how to achieve this behaviour.

Kind regards, Ad
