I have 2 solar banks each going to a solar junction box and a separate controller on my boat. 1 controller is Victon Bluesolar, the other a Renogy. The Victron is larger bank, but rarely produces much power, it seems to sense the Renogy charging and stops producing. How do I change this so Victron keeps charging?
Check your wiring does not have large voltage drops due to being too long, too thin or poor connections. If wiring is OK tjen you can give ghe Victron an edge by increasing the float and absorption voltages by 0.05 to 0.10V for a 12V system. Rhe otjer reason is that if the batteries are close to full they may not be able to absorb the power ftom both controllers anyway.
Thanks - it is working now. Turns-out my assumption was wrong. Turned off PV and battery to controller and when restarted all is working.
