To get the best out of your system you need a GX device as this will allow the BMS to control the charging from the Multiplus and shut down Multiplus charging or inverting if required due to factors such as low or high cell voltage without having to rely on full system shutdown by the contactor.
Thanks… as far as the communication cabling, is it possible to use one protocol/network cable to talk to all these devices? From what I understand the ng battery is canbus and comes with its own cable that plugs into the bms. That leaves the other devices. I just want to make sure I’m not buying cables that I don’t need or are redundant. Having said that, is there a software tool that can be used to quickly figure out which cables are needed?
The Lynx NG BMS connects to the GX device over VE Can which uses cat5 cables and you will need the terminators, one in the BMS, one in the GX, these should come with the BMS.
The Multiplus connects to the GX Device over VE Bus which also uses cat5 cables but does not need terminators. You just need 2 good quality cat5 cables.
