Connecting shore power

I have a multiplus installed in my camper van with shore power outlet installed. Is there a specific sequence to connect and turn on? My thought is to have inverter off, connect shore power cable then turn on inverter. I already have correct amp selected for shore power. Thank you

You don’t need to switch off the inverter. Just make sure the batteries are already connected.

Thank you

It is good practice to turn the shore power breaker on AFTER you plug in, especially if the age and quality of the shore power outlet is questionable.

When I connect to shore power at house the GCFI trips. I have amps set to 15 amps on monitor. Anyone know why the inverter is tripping the GCFI on a 20 amp plug? I did try setting at 20 and 15 amps still trips.

Called the installer and thy don’t know why.

For technical reasons that have been discussed exhaustively on this site(search GFCI and Multiplus) the Victron Multiplus will often trip a GFCI circuit. It is nothing your installer did wrong and nothing is malfunctioning. There are some solutions you will see if you read on these other posts but none of them are simple. I would recommend plugging into a non GFCI oultet if possible. Another good option would be to have an actual RV plug installed with its own breaker.
