I know, get a Multiplus. Sorry, this is for a small-ish sailboat, and the Multiplus is a bit too large to fit, and twice the weight of the equivalent Renogy 3.5kw inverter / charger. So I got the Renogy. But the rest of the system will be Victron, so Cerbo-GX (or Venus OS on Raspberry Pi), DC-DC chargers, SmartShunts, etc. I just need help in getting the Cerbo to talk to the Renogy. Searching the various forums hasn’t turned up anything particularly helpful. My questions:
- I expect the communication would be via the Renogy’s RS-485 port (yes?), so will need an RS-485 to USB dongle. Is there a particular dongle (e.g. USB chip) that I need to use, or are they “all” more or less equivalent?
- I believe I will also need to add a driver to the Cerbo to talk to the Renogy. Which one do I need, and where to get it?
Thanks!
