I normally run my multiplus connected to the grid. However in the event of a grid failure I would like to run the house from the batteries after I isolate the system from the grid. What changes do I need to make to my config ? Running a seperate circuit for a few items via the ups/island feature does not give me enough power. Thanks.

Yes, system runs normally as ESS. Have 1000ah of Lifepo4 batteries and 2 arrays of solar panels each on a Victron MPPT. System works great, just renders its self useless if we have a grid outage, which we do during the winter months. I would like to be able to isolate the mains from the house, which I can do easily with the grid isolater switch, and run the system as off grid, but I dont know how to reconfigure the multiplus in order to achieve this ?
If the loads are on AC1 OUT and ESS is configured, then the transition from grid to no grid should be seamless.
If your loads are on AC IN or AC OUT 2, they will not be covered by the multiplus.
If your loads on the output are greater than the inverter rating (2400W for the 3kVA and 4000W for the 5kVA), it will fault and restart 3 times before giving up.
It’s best to put non-critical loads on AC2 so they are dropped on grid loss.
