Hello everyone - 3x6 Pylontech and Victron communication

I have a setup with 3 groups of 6 Pylontech US5000 batteries connected to a Victron system (3 MultiPlus, 2 MPPT RS 450 200) and I can’t get communication between the batteries and the Cerbo GX.

If I connect only one battery group, there’s no problem, I have full communication. However, as soon as I have 2 or 3 groups communicating correctly with each other, I lose communication with the Cerbo GX.

Each of the 3 Pylontech groups has a master. The master of all the batteries : the master of the first group has a Type A cable connected to the Cerbo GX.

Between the battery groups, a battery cable supplied by Pylontech is connected between the B/RS485 output of the first master unit and the A/Can output of the second master unit, then from the B/RS485 output of the second master unit to the A/Can output of the third master unit, as indicated in the Pylontech manual. Upon startup, the master unit of group 1 beeps three times to indicate that it is properly connected to the other groups.

Has anyone else encountered this issue?

Have a good day!

Hi sorry no french, 3x6 is 18 pylontechs, this not possible without a pylontech hub, 16 is the max and also there can only be one master in a system

Thanks for your answer,
I see to what you refer but in the pylontech manual it is said that there are 2 ways to connect together pylontech groups, and one is like that :

In this case we don’t need the LV-hub.
Also, the limit of 16 that you say is within one group, here we have 6 by group.

Yes you are right, but i dont think the setup your are trying to use is possible with a victron inverter…

You mean without the LV Hub ?

If anyone has experienced multigroup pylonthech connection to GXdevice, I would take advices.

yes LV hub works with victron,

Multigroup i’m not sure..
