Communication issues

Morning. So before I loose my mind all together , I need help please. I have just installed 3 us5000 pylontechs, changed the inverter to a multiplus 2 and updated the software on to color control. I have lost the battery percentage display on the color control and I don’t think the batteries are communicating properly with the system….. I have via VE Config set the battery charge rates to that of the manufacturer data sheets and also ensured the mppt follows the same values but I’m still bumping my head badly here..

What Venus firmware or you running exactly? The equivalent of the attached screen might show if you have communication problems and proceed from there.

If you have a correct communication, then the battery should be present on that list on color control besides the inverter and mppt.
In the event of a missing battery info, the voltage and the current on the main screen for the battery are taken from the inverter.
Confirm that the CAN profile is set as CAN-bus BMS at 500kbit/s.
Try to have all dips on all batteries the same. For example I have them all like your mid battery. If you modify them, restart the pack.

You are missing the canbus terminator at the ccgx end so I would start there.

He has it enabled on the master battery (looking at the dip-switches).
And for the length of the Victron cable and the speed of the network, the reflected wave is not a problem if only one terminator is there…
I have it like he does, with only the battery terminator enabled and without Cerbo’s terminator for years and not a single drop from the millions of the packets sent/received. Here below, for a month uptime from the last reset.

Interesting, but cannot hurt to establish a correct baseline from where to work. Do have a CCGX or Cerbo? Yes Pylontech terminates at the battery end and I never fitted any there.

I have a Cerbo.
You’re right, when troubleshooting better to stick to standards.

The other thing to check is the port speed for the can port. It should be set to 500 not 250.

No change to the DIP switches… All set to OFF, just like on the master!
