Charging a Lead acid battery from An Orion xs supplied by a smart solar

Hi

On a boat a Solar panel bank and smart solar charge a lithium battery bank.

After the smart solar I d like to charge two different lead batteries bank with an Orion Xs 12-12 .

is it possible to do it without issues galvanic isolation or troubles with the voltage variation from the solar charger ?

I aim to care my lead batteries bank from the solar panels when the shore power is unplugged during winter

Thank’ you

Yes you can do this. You would set the engine detection settings so that the lead acid batteries only charge when the solar is keeping the lithium batteries at charging voltage, say above 13.6V. This stops the Orion from discharging the lithium batteries. The settings are under engine shutdown detection as they normally get charge from an engine alternator, but in your case solar is OK. Many people use the Orions like this.
