Charger Not Tuning On

Just installed a new Victron MPPT 100/20 controller and cant get it to turn on
Installed the app and it says controller is off but my solar voltage is 22 volts. Circuit breaker is new and working correctly, bluetooth is working, connections are good.

Am I missing something with the setup - any assistance would be appreciated.

The battery system is 12V?

The viltage from solar panel is 23v when not connected to charger

Here is screenshot i get from the app

Your trouble is there is a problem in your wiring between the panel and the controller, you see where is says Solar and 0.01V the 23V from the panel is not getting through. Poor crimps, terminals not tight enough, blown fuse, breaker not contacting, MC4 connectors loose, can be on positive or negative. It could also be a poor connection in the panel, a meter takes little current so it reads full voltage, but once you connect the controller the current is restricted. A test for a broken panel is the short circuit current using a multimeter on amps, search for panel test videos on Youtube.

Are you using one of these cheap breakers, they are not very good. If you are try removing it and just connecting the wires.

No i am using a double pole circuit breaker. Proper solar cct breaker.

Do i need to remove the DIP switch pin that comes installed between pins and three as well.

Thanks for your help. I will recheck the breaker etc in the morning

Also double check the polarity of the pv wires.
Reverse connection will give 0v.

This (other than weak connections or panel fault) reverse polarity is the most likely cause.

According to the manual this sets the way the load output operates, not the solar charge circuit so it should have no impact.

Thanks you for your help. I found the problem. The red and black PV cell cables had the +ve -ve plugs on incorrectly. I assumed they were correct so didn’t check. Rookie error but it all works now.
