Charge battery from AC in / Grid connected PV

Hi, I’ve recently installed a multiplus II gx with a 3rd party battery. All seems to be connected and working well. I’ve set the dynamic ESS to green mode and would like to use as much of my own solar power as possible. The PV is connected on the grid side with a VM-3P75CT measuring the phases.

In day time, the VRM shows a feed into the grid, and/but doesn’t feed this into the battery. I could understand why the VRM doesn’t show this as PV power but don’t understand why it doesn’t balance the total consumption with the excess power.

and yes, “ac coupled PV - feed in excess” is switched on.

any thoughts?

What make i the solar how big is it? As far as im aware the VM-3P75CT can only do one device ie its either a grid device that can monitor 1 to 3 Phases or its a PV monitor that can only monitor the PV feedin but cant also monitor the grid at the sametime! Ive been pushing for this to monitor three devices in single phase but no joy at the minuet.

Its a Solar Edge 2.2kW. In the sketched scenario the battery was on status “idle” (at approx 50% SOC) as the active energy cost wasn’t lowest or highest. However the PV was pushing 1kW into the grid and I would like and expected any excess PV energy to be absorbed by the battery, That’s the whole point of the ESS green mode, right?

Dess isnt the best at working out when is the best time to export to be honest, i tryed it and then abandoned it as i only have a peak or not peak tarrif and found that it would charge in off peak sometimes and would also charge in peak rate some times so it go turned off and nodered control for solar done instead. This is gong to come down to algorythum so i yield to someone that uses this feature.
