I’ve been using the Masterbus Modbus Interface to monitor and control Mastervolt MLI batteries, chargers, etc. I recently downloaded and installed Cerbo on a Raspberry Pi 4B, and I see a few references to having a Modbus interface. But I can’t find any discussion of integrating Mastervolt devices within Cerbo via Modbus.
I suspect that few Modbus drivers will be compatible out-of-the-box because of Mastervolt’s use of “Modbus function 23 - Read/Write Multiple Registers” instead of the much more common functions 3, 4 & 16.
However it looks to me (without having tried it) like a relatively straightforward exercise to achieve interoperability.
Has anybody tried it? Is anybody working on it? Have I completely missed the inherent difficulty of such a project?
