Hi! My name is Jack. I’m new in the Victron community.
We have a little problem. We have a small Clipper 9.0 camper. We installed an MPPT controller with a Cerbo GX to drive the 100W solar panel. So, when we are not connected to my home network, the Cerbo can find my network. So on the road, I make a hot spot with my iphone, but the Cerbo is unable to find my “hotspot” network.
The GX can only access a 2.4ghz AP, if your phone is only offering 5ghz then it won’t be seen, in which case you will need a USB dongle that supports 5gig, supported ones are listed in the manual.
The hotspot might offer a wifi compatibility option if this is the issue.
Also worth checking there are no special/unusual characters in the SSID of the network.
In iphone “settings”, i switch the “maximize compatiblity” line to create 2.4ghz network. So, why Cerbo is unable to see the network? I can’t see my hot spot in the network screen. I didn’t try with my wife android phone. And also, “authorize other users” line is enabled.
From another device, connect to the internal wifi AP on the GX (how to do this is in the manual).
From there open the remote console to the GX, navigate to network settings and see if that finds your hotspot.
