Cerbo GX Signal-K, NMEA 2K and a 2019 Yamaha F70

I want to monitor my Yamaha F70 engine data through a Cerbo GX running the Large OS (Signal K) on a device such as a smartphone or tablet.

The only two wires connected to the F70 are white (CAN-H) and blue (CAN-L).

The only wires as far as I can tell needed to VE. Can on the GX are 7 (CAN-H) AND 8 (CAN-L).

Seeing as I don’t plan to have other devices within an n2k network maybe I can simply build an engine interface to VE. Can cable and eliminate a backbone, power cable, drop cables and termination plugs?
