Cerbo GX 2 intergation with Raymarine Axiom vis NMEA2000

I purchased the VE.CAN to NMEA 2000 micro c cable and and plan to integrate it into my Seatalkng network. Can a standard Ethernet cable be used to to extend this cable? Which CAN port is best for this connection? 1 or 2? Does a termination plug need to be installed on the port next to the one I"m using? Thanks for the help!

Hi SVValhalla, to use the Victron VE.Can/Nmea2000 in a Seatalk NG backbone you have to buy a Raymarine Seatalk NG/Devicenet female Spur conversion Cable. You can find it in different length (12 cm., 40cm. and 1 meter long) , the longest have this code A06075. You do not have to plug the termination plug un the Cerbo because it is simply another device connected to the Seatalk NG backbone which is already terminated both ends. Try to keep the cable short, the shortest the better. Have a nice day

Thanks so much. I should have mentioned in my post that I did have the spur cable installed and connected to a hub. I will experiment with different CAN ports and settings when I’m at the boat next. Thank you so much.

Hi SVValhalla, the 2 VE.Can ports are the same. Remember to take out the fuse from the Victron cable otherwise the Cerbo gives power to the Seatalk NG bus. The Seatalk NG bus must be powered from one source only (the red/black spur cable or the autopilot). Have a nice day.
